ULTRAMET (UNS R31233) is a cobalt alloy that is resistant to wear and aqueous corrosion. From a wear perspective, its performance is similar to that of STELLITE alloys with lower carbon content. From a corrosion perspective, it possesses many properties of both C-type and G-type HASTELLOY materials, particularly its resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. Compared with STELLITE alloy, its mechanical and welding properties are closer to HASTELLOY alloy, whose low ductility may cause problems.
